Mariam Legrain

Mariam Legrain is the founder of Padma Studio.

Trained at a very young age in classical dance, high-level sports in GRS in adolescence, she then trained in contemporary dance. She began her career as a teacher and sports coach in 1986, with a state degree in contemporary dance and gymnastics.

In 1990, her encounter with India was decisive: India and its traditions fascinated her and led her to train in traditional Indian dance in the Bharata-Natyam style, with Vidya, Malavika Klein, Dominique Delorme in Paris, Srimati MK Saroja Khokar, Srimati Lavanya Ananth and Kumari Sangeeta Isvaran in Madras.
