Connie Cappos

My journey with yoga began as a personal quest for transformation. After years of navigating the challenges of chronic pain, stress, obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle, yoga became the bridge that allowed me to reconnect my mind, body, and spirit. I have been immersed in the study and practice of yoga since 1998. My path began at the Yoga Oasis Retreat Center in Puna, Hawaii, where I explored a diverse range of lineages and styles. After transitioning from student to staff, and eventually to instructor. I opened Kupukupu Yoga in Pahoa in 2012. I’ve spent years leading wellness retreats, contributing to teacher training programs, and festivals including teaching the opening at the Hawaii Yoga Festival and being chosen as Ambassador representing the United States at the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India in 2023, 2024, and 2025. I am currently teaching at Kupukupu Yoga in Hawaii and at Okreblue Yoga Retreat Center in Greece.

My teaching offers a unique, multi-disciplinary experience that draws from decades of study. By blending traditional Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Kriyas, Meditation, and Sound,’ I create a safe and welcoming environment tailored to modern practitioners seeking both physical and spiritual growth. I bring a diverse, “whole life” perspective to my teaching. I am a world traveler, a celebrity wardrobe stylist, and an off-grid, organic farmer who manages my own tropical vacation rental in Hawaii. This blend of high-level professional experience and grounded, sustainable living informs my passionate approach to health and wellness.
