Let go of the daily stresses. Come relax the nervous system. Find stillness in the movement. We will gather in community to let go, even just a little bit, of the stories and the dramas of our lives and be present with ourselves and each other. Be present with our senses, feel the sand between our toes, listen to the sound of the sea, taste the delicious local food, smell the warm sea breeze, see the beauty of this special island. Please bring a journal as we’ll be doing some writing. And everything is optional. This is your precious time, to spend as you wish.

SCHEDULE

Saturday 19 October 2024
Arrive before 17:00 for our first session and enjoy dinner around 19:00. You can check into your room by 15:00 and it’s okay to arrive earlier. The group will coordinate taxis from the Paros Airport (PAS) and Ferry Port, which takes 30-40 minutes. The 3 hour ferry from Athens to Paros is a beautiful journey and often much more affordable than flying.

20-22 October 2024
Light snacks before an active morning yoga practice. Then a full brunch, followed by free time to go to the beach, explore the island, go shopping in the cute nearby town of Náoussa, or just spend time connecting with other retreat participants. Late afternoon sessions may include workshops, breathwork, meditation and/or yoga nidra. Followed by a nourishing dinner.
The studio is well equipped with mats and all props. We may have some practices on the beach.

Post yoga brunch around 10:00. You can depart between 11:00 and 12:00 with arranged taxis to the Ferry Port, Airport or somewhere else if you are staying longer on Paros.

Jack Van Wyk

Jack has been teaching yoga in San Francisco and Berlin since 2010. His style is a blend of Bhakti, Vinyasa, Hatha and other styles and includes humor to ensure we don’t take ourselves too seriously. It’s playful, fun and designed to help us drop in and connect with ourselves. Then we can find more joy and share that joy off the yoga mat. His teachings are also influenced by several journeys to India. His most influential teachers include, but are not limited to, everyone he’s ever met. Jack fell in love with Greece several years ago and visits a few times every year for the special land, healing waters, friendly people and delicious food!

Jack has spent much of his one precious lifetime learning, always a student. He participated in many trainings, retreats, workshops and other personal growth experiences around the world. He also trained as an Esalen® Massage Practitioner in California in 2014 and have been holding space for people’s healing ever since. He enjoys geeking out over the human body, specifically how we hold ourselves in our bodies, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He grew up in South Africa and have lived in the US and the UK and the last two years in Berlin.
