Connie Cappos

I am the founder and director of Kupukupu Yoga, in Pahoa, Hawaii. My relationship with Yoga started on quest to find a healthier way to live. After years of unhealthy living, obesity, and chronic pain, it was through yoga that I was able to finally get my mind, body, and spirit reconnected and live happily

In 1998 my yogic path began at Yoga Oasis Retreat Center in Puna, Hawaii. I became a staff member, and then a teacher, receiving my YTT in 2009. I taught and lead wellness retreats for Yoga Oasis before opening Kupukupu Yoga in Pahoa in 2012. I was forced close the studio in 2014 due to volcanic eruption. I relocated to Hawaiian Sanctuary Retreat Center, from 2014 -2020, where I taught and managed the yoga program.

I lead retreats and workshops, teach on 200-hour YTT teams, and at yoga festivals, including teaching the opening class at the Hawaii Yoga Festival in 2017. I currently run and manage my own studio in Pahoa, Hawaii. I travel to Rishikesh, India annually to go deeper in my studies to practice with yoga masters and spiritual leaders. In March 2023, I will be honored to be representing the United States as the Ambassador at the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh.

I am committed and dedicated to my own daily yoga practice; it is as important to me as sharing my knowledge of yoga with others.

I am world traveler, a semi-retired celebrity stylist, manage my own tropical vacation rental and tend to my tropical organic orchard. I am passionate about wellness, and expansion. I use my years of training and experience on the mat to combine an active practice of Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, and Sound Bath.
