With Jonas Westring & Sasy Chasomeri.  In life we play out many versions of ourselves and only when we let go of our need to be defined by the boundaries and ideas of who we think we are or must be, are we the true expression of ourselves. The elements of nature exists around us and within us. We are made of earth, water, fire, air and the ether that surrounds and holds everything – the moment we allow ourselves to explore this very nature of our true being, transformation begins. At the unique setting of Okreblue Seaside Retreat during this 7-day yoga retreat, Jonas and Sasy will lead practices that are systematic, effective and therapeutic while incorporating the framework of the 5 elements of Yoga & Ayurveda. Meditations will be held in a different nature locations and each asana class will address a specific theme/topic. Through mindful therapeutic movement, techniques and sequences we will have the opportunity to explore strengths, acknowledge limitations, and learn to move beyond them. We’ll be looking for true Yoga = Union, which may be found in mindful activity or moments of stillness. Join this retreat and find yourself in the most beautiful land of light, earth, water, wind and held in the eternal ether of the fabulous Greek island Paros.

The retreat includes daily morning and evening practices with morning meditation at different nature locations around the retreat center to establish a deeper connection and understanding of the elements. Morning meditations will be followed by asana classes in order to embody the elemental state of being through our perfect vehicle which we call body. We meet again in the late afternoon for a second session that offers a variety of supportive practices such as slow therapeutic asana, partnered yogic bodywork and more.

All practices are accessible to both those newer to yoga and more experienced practitioners/ yoga teachers. Light snack and tea will be offered in the short break between meditation and asana class, followed by Okreblue’s sumptuous brunch buffet with home made delicacies right after asana.

There’s lots of free time to enjoy the beaches and the island, relax at Okreblue’s beach or treat yourself with a nurturing massage, while many other options awaits you to explore. The evenings offers Okreblue’s delicious and organic rich and healthy dinner buffet.

Jonas Westring
Jonas Westring, originally Swedish with decades in the USA and Asia, began his yoga journey in 1981 at the Scandinavian Yoga School, a branch of the Bihar School of Yoga. He has been immersed in holistic wellness practices ever since and now with 40 years personal yoga experience; twenty-five years yoga teaching; twenty years leading yoga teacher training; Jonas is yoga educator well established in the field.

He also has exceptionally well-rounded and extensive qualifications as a Licensed Physiotherapist; Certified Yoga Therapist; Massage Therapist; Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher Trainer; E-RYT 500, founder-director of Shantaya Yoga & Bodywork School [based in Chiang Mai, Thailand] that teaches 200-hour and 300-hour Teacher Training Programs certified by Yoga Alliance and Anusara School of Hatha Yoga.
Using the bio-mechanically sound, effective and systematic Anusara method based on “Universal Principles of Alignment’ as his main practice and teaching focus, he also has experience in a variety of yoga styles such as Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, Viniyoga, and especially Integrative Yoga Therapy – a therapeutic yoga school where he was teaching faculty from 1999-2003, which mentored him into the role of teacher trainer.

Jonas brings to his teaching not only a multitude of yoga styles and therapies but also a background in clinical physiotherapy which he practiced both in Sweden and in the USA in the 1990’s. With a solid education in western medicine and a life invested in holistic healing modalities and practices from the East, he skillfully integrates both perspectives into educational therapeutic teachings.

He was also one of the early pioneers in spreading the Thai massage healing tradition through a Thai Yoga Certification program he created in the USA in 1998 that trained students in therapeutic yogic bodywork informed by physiotherapy and yoga. This program he taught extensively in the USA for 18 years but also in Japan and other countries.

For several decades Jonas has traveled the world transmitting the essence of yoga, bodywork, anatomy and therapeutics with a light-hearted, educational, anatomical-therapeutic twist. He is known and appreciated for an insightful, joyful teaching style that emphasizes students’ educational advancement as well as providing them an in-depth personal direct experience of yoga.

Sasy Chasomeri

Is one of the founders and director of Okreblue Yoga Retreat Center.

A yoga teacher, holistic coach, nature lover and environmentalist Sasy is leading a conscious life on Paros Island.

She has been experiencing the multiple benefits of yoga since 2006 and had the call to teach in 2010. She is a certified and registered yoga teacher E-RYT 200, RYT 500, certified NLP Coach, Ayurveda Practitioner, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapist, Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher, NLP Master Practitioner & Coach and Mindfulness Meditation teacher.

She leads the Living Yoga Project teaching workshops, trainings and retreats at her home, Okreblue, on Paros island.

Her method is based on the Alignment Principles of Anusara Yoga. The practice of Anusara Yoga is considered to be ‘heart-oriented’, meaning that it is expressed from the ‘inside out’. Artistically and mindfully, Sasy interweaves a meaningful intention, to the physical practice with her deep knowledge of human body anatomy, as a way to expand and take your awareness beyond the mat and into everyday life. Each sequence is very carefully designed to meet her students’ needs for continuous growth and healing.
