Aerial Yoga’s’ fiery stabilization and Restorative earthy sequences are a dynamic combination of action and pause. In Restorative and other gentle practices, the poses are designed to improve the flow of prana and calm the mind. Aerial Yoga, taught expertly and playfully by Sasy, is practiced with the use of silk hammocks that are used as props to increase strength and develop flexibility in the joints. The silks allow us to take the weight off our feet, resulting in joint relief, reversed blood flow, and lymphatic drainage. In Aerial Yoga all the body parts gently move and stretch. The muscles rejuvenate, and the joints become stronger. All while having an incredible amount of fun. We use our core strength to balance and stabilize during this practice. The combination of the dynamic aerial and gentle afternoon yoga brings together unique practices resulting in a strong, relaxed body and mind.
In the afternoon we will meet for a gentle practice guided by Connie. She will lead you through different traditional practices including, but not limited to, restorative yoga, guided or walking meditations, pranayama (breath exploration) and/or a soothing sound bath played on brass Tibetan singing bowls.
Restorative yoga encourages physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Through subtle movement, restorative yoga allows us to relearn the art of relaxation while developing skills and habits to self sooth.
Meditation refers to any process that leads to an inner state of relaxed awareness. We will explore different types of meditations using various techniques and tools that can be used to help us focus and quiet the mind. We will meet on the beach for a full moon meditation on the evening of July 3rd as the moon rises over the Aegean Sea and Okreblue.
Breath exploration or Pranayama is the practice of breath regulation. There are many different breathing techniques that can calm, cool, and balance the mind, bring energy/ heat to the body, assist manifestation and visualization, and so much more. The practice of pranayama can purify our inner space and support a balanced awaking within ourselves.
A sound bath is your invitation to pause and go within yourself. The sound may encourage you to relax and take deeper breaths or maybe fill you with inner peace as your thoughts subside.
We will learn new things, deepen, and get a better understanding of what Connie calls the “juicy” part of our yoga practice means to us on a personal level.
We hope you will join us for this unique and transformational experience
